Rebuilding Stronger After Disaster
In the wake of hurricanes, floods, and other natural disasters, communities face the challenge of not just rebuilding—but building back smarter and stronger. The U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) is offering a powerful opportunity to do just that through its FY 2025 Disaster Supplemental Funding Program.
With $1.45 billion in funding available, this program is designed to help communities recover from federally declared disasters in 2023 and 2024—and to transform their local economies for long-term resilience.
Three Paths to Funding
The EDA offers three distinct funding tracks, depending on your community’s needs and stage of recovery:
Readiness Path
For non-construction projects that build local capacity
Grant range: $250,000–$500,000
Implementation Path
For construction and non-construction projects that support recovery and economic growth
Grant range: $2M–$20M (construction), $100K–$5M (non-construction)
Industry Transformation Path
For large-scale, coalition-led projects that reshape regional economies
Grant range: $20M–$50M
